Dandelion Parachute Seed

Welcome to Uwharrie Highlanders

At Uwharrie Highlanders, we have taken something which started as a family passion and turned it into a rewarding hobby. I’ve been in the veterinary field for 14 years. I’m no stranger to breeding, but fell in love with the Highlands. My husband and I decided that we wanted to be able to share this wonderful breed with everyone else. We pride ourselves in providing TICA registered, healthy quality kittens and occasional adult Highlanders. Although the breed is very loving and sometimes considered to be dog like, they are not for everyone. You have to be willing to have a cat that follows you around, talks a lot, wants to play and can get very large.  There is no two that are exactly the same. They come in many colors and coat types. They can have tight curled ears, loose curled ears or even straight ears. They can have straight feet or be polydactyl. Their tails can be anywhere between no tail to a full length tail.
